the appalachian concert band

The Appalachian Concert Band is open to all Appalachian students, and no audition is required. Primarily comprised of non-music majors and music majors performing on secondary instruments, the Appalachian Concert Band offers continued performance opportunities for those students who wish to keep music in their lives as a recreational and aesthetic activity. The Appalachian Concert Band is conducted  by Graduate Teaching Assistants Mr. Jake Miller, Ms. Marin Kimpton, and Director of Bands, Dr. John Stanley Ross. Guest conductors and Hayes School of Music faculty soloists often perform with the Appalachian Concert Band.

The Concert Band meets in the spring semesters on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm, and presents two concerts on campus. Students enrolled in the Appalachian Concert Band receive one hour of academic credit by registering for MUS 1127.
